Sustainability
What good is a loft if you do not have a healthy planet on which to live?
DWL believes sustainability is on an equal footing with profitability and will enhance property values for the DWL owners in Colorado’s new energy economy. DWL design concepts employ common sense, energy conservation principals in all aspects of our project from foundation to roofing
DWL is the first, fully photovoltaic work/live project in Denver. Each unit is equipped with a 2k system to provide electrical savings of approximately 40% annually. A 1k system serves the community’s HOA panel to offset costs on exterior lighting.
DWL’s “white roof” achieves an insulation value of R30. Its reflective surface results in substantial energy and maintenance and cost savings.
DWL’s ventilation units operate at an efficient level and will be fitted with outside air dampers to circulate filtered, fresh air when appropriate.
DWL offers tankless water heaters which provide excellent hot water capacity but with 25% savings over traditional systems.
DWL, with skylights in each unit, offers ample natural light to enhance healthy, happy inside atmospheres. Low-E glazing in all appropriate openings improves heating and cooling efficiencies and provides UV ray protection.
DWL is utilizing numerous ecofriendly products in its structure, foundation and exterior walls.
DWL kitchens include appliances that have been awarded Consumer Reports’ “Best Buy” designation. Energy usage is factored into this rating, so all dishwashers, refrigerators and microwaves excel in efficiency and cost-savings for loft owners
